Background;
Grew up in a fishing orientated family on the shores of Lake Macquarie.Learning from my Grandather how to catch and collect bait and progressing to all the bread and butter species.Progressed from shore fishing to venturing further a field in a boat where i learnt to read the water and different conditions.Once old enough to hold a car licence i travelled up and down the coast chasing Gamefish off the rocks,until buying a boat of my own.I spent a few seasons chasing Marlin,tuna,sharks and a number of other pelagic species,also becoming a member of Lake Macquarie Game Fishing Club.
My next angling adventure found me on the Williams River in a small aluminium punt casting lures at a snag filled river bank with cows the only spectators.I could not believe the aggresive manner in which these little bronze freshwater bream would attack my hard body offerings.I was "hooked" on bass fishing from that very first encounter and continue today to hold the same HEALTHY OBSESSION! I have been fortunate enough to have met and become very good friends with alot of other men and women who share this same healthy obsession.
Fishing has taken me all over Australia to some of the most remote and beautifully scenic regions this country has to offer,meeting and admiring all different charactors along the way.I am married to my beautiful wife Leah and we have a three year old son named Oscar who is going to be a future fishing champion.He has already been taken to where it all started for me on the Williams River and has a few Bass to his credit.It is amazing the joy i get out of seeing the kids catching fish and just getting out of the house and experiencing the outdoors.Unfortunately not enough kids get to experience such healthy charactor building and respect for nature and the enviroment.
Future ambitions;
I am hoping to achieve a top five National Bass ranking by the end of this season.I finished 7th at the end of last season missing two rounds so with a little work and of course as we all know some good old fashioned luck this is definately achievable.I finished second in last years Bass Pro Grandfinal behind Mathew Mott who is already on the television series AFC so i am hoping to get a spot for the next series.If it all works out i would be aiming to progress into the following season of course but really just enjoying the whole experience.Above all i am just happy to enjoy my fshing and time on the water.
Favourite Impoundment;
My local impoundment of Lake St clair would have to be my favourite especially for the spring time surface bite.A close second is a local water storage just up the road where i have caught bass in excess of 3kg.
Favourite techneques;
Hands down it would be surface fishing a rise over freshly flooded shallows.Heart stopping and even when you are expecting the bite it still catches you out every time.

Favourite lures;
vault 35/42-004black tail,008ayu,014holo green iwashi,236black gold holo.These are great lures for both beam and bass especially when targeting them in deeper water.They can be slow rolled or hoped of the bottom and everything in between depending on what mood the fish are in.A good searching lure..
Napjaru 60-213h black ghost,236h black gold,These are my favourites and just a couple of the colours that have landed me Bass.Great for that reaction edge bite when the bass are out on the prowl.Slow rolled just above the bottom or fast burned with pauses seems to work best for me.
Saemi 50sp-217h black ghost,213h phantom,236h black gold holo.an awsome lure for bream and bass especially when they are just that little bit deeper and not really on the bite.crank them down and twitch them pausing it right in the fishes face for a savage attack.Must have.
mu-sp45-005 ayu,236 black gold holo,213 phantom.These things just catch fish.Great for working the shallows and left just hanging there,simply too much for the fish to resist.A great flats lure and just as good around structure/snags and racks.Another must have especially for bream fisherman.
