NAME: ROD PICKERING
LOCATION: MARGARET RIVER, WA
OCCUPATION: ELECTRICAL OFFICER

BACKGROUND:
I am very passionate about all things fishing, after rediscovering the peace and joys to be had that I first experienced heading down the south coast  of NSW where I was raised, with dad most school holidays and long weekends.

We used to chase pink snapper and pelagics inshore and out to the continental shelf, and can remember then, considering the humble bream as by catch……
Now I am totally addicted to almost solely pursuing and trying to understand this great little fish, having me in just the last few years participating in the healthy catch and release scene here in WA. Of the comps I’ve fished in as both a boater and non-boater, I’ve experienced the dreaded donut to winning a round of the current WA Southern Series at Albany, and enjoy the spirit and social atmosphere, the sharing of knowledge.

AMBITIONS:
To continue in my education of trying to crack the bream code.
Compete well in the WA Bream Classics as well as the GF of the southern series in Albany  and the ABT Round here on my local river, the Blackwood, in May.
To be a good ambassador for the Searing Tackle  brands and help grow the profile here in WA.

Hard Bodies:
Pontoon 21 both the Crack Jack and Greedy Guts most colours especially  Carmin Red and Bleeding Tiger Prawn.
